Introduction

The genus Dhysores represents a widepsread African group with 7 known species.

Characteristics

The species of Dhysores have four setae on the labrum. The pronotum has angular and 0-1 marginal setae. There are minor setae on antennomeres V-X. The prefrontal pits are moderately or much reduced, round or oval, or punctiform. The post-antennal pits are small to obsolete. The basal impressions become discal strioles anteriorly. The striole plus basal impression is 0.55-0.85 of the pronotal length. The hind wings and eyes are well developed.

This page is a Tree of Life Branch Page.

Each ToL branch page provides a synopsis of the characteristics of a group of organisms representing a branch of the Tree of Life. The major distinction between a branch and a leaf of the Tree of Life is that each branch can be further subdivided into descendent branches, that is, subgroups representing distinct genetic lineages.

For a more detailed explanation of the different ToL page types, have a look at the Structure of the Tree of Life page.
