Comments
|
This picture shows a normal male (left), a female (center) who lacks many of her black stripes, and her young who is striped only on neck and legs. At a distance, normal zebras look grey and blend well with their surroundings, but these white individuals were very conspicuous.

Returning from a kill, an adult prepares to regurgitate meat to the pups. In a pack of wild dogs, normally only one pair breeds but all adults cooperate to provision the young.

This picture shows clearly the large rounded ears and irregular coat pattern of the wild dog. The black face and white tail are the only features that all individuals share.
