Richard E. Young and Katharina M. Mangold

Hooks from the proximal region of the hectocotylus ( P. margaritifera, P. addolux redrawn from Young, 1972; P. serrata redrawn from Riddell, 1985). The hooks of the first two species exhibit their true relative differences in size but not the third species. The hooks of P. serrata are stated to be much larger than those of P. addolux but the magnitude of the difference was not reported.

Drawings of hectocotylus hooks modified from Riddell, 1985 (P. serrata) and R. Young, 1972 (P. addolux, P. margaritifera).
