Medium to fairly large salticids living in vegetation; the northernmost
members of a neotropical group.
Members of this subfamily tend to have a very snappy but fluid jump.

Identification
The most distinctive characteristic is the set of four bulbous setae on the underside of the first tibia. The male palpus with a double tibial apophysis is distinctive. Note also visibility of anterior gut diverticulum in ocular quadrangle.
