Introduction

Beetle-like small dendryphantines with robust carapace. The type species, S. papenhoei, and Agassa cyanea are very closely related. There is doubt as to whether any of the other species placed in Sassacus belong there. The South American species placed in Sassacus may very well belong in the genus Ramboia. With the exception of the removal of S. vitis to Metaphidippus, the above list of species is taken from Proszynski's Catalogue.
