E. reductus inhabits small streams with temperate rainforest along the banks and dry sclerophyll on elevated ridges. The species ranges from near Elands, south-west of Comboyne, 100 km south-west to the Barrington Tops area and also inhabits the Myall Range near Bulahdelah.References
